Christy Ladd is currently the planning and transportation manager for Ohkay Owingeh; she oversees the Federal Transit Administration and Federal Highway Administration programs for the Pueblo; including the “PoPay Messenger” public transportation system. She has successfully implemented a Transit System for the Pueblo and their service area which has had a major impact on the socio-economic well-being of tribal members.
Mrs. Ladd has worked in several capacities for the Tribes in New Mexico including NAGPRA Coordinator/Collections Manager for the School of Advanced Research in Santa Fe, NM; the Director of the POEH Museum in Pojoaque, NM; the Director of Education for Ohkay Owingeh; and the Tribal Administrator for the Pueblo of Picuris.
She is currently the chair of the NMDOT District-5 Northern Pueblos Regional Transportation Planning Organization (NPRTPO); has a position on the NCRTD Board of Directors (also serves as the Chair of the Tribal Subcommittee); serves on the NM Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP); and is a former member of the Tribal Transportation Program Coordinating Committee (TTPCC) on behalf of the Southwest Tribes.
