The American Public Transportation Association (APTA)

APTA  members are public organizations that are engaged in the areas of bus, paratransit, light rail, commuter rail, subways, waterborne passenger services, and high-speed rail. Members also include large and small companies who plan, design, construct, finance, supply, and operate bus and rail services worldwide. Government agencies, metropolitan planning organizations, state departments of transportation, academic institutions, and trade publications are also part of our membership.

 

Busing on the Lookout (BOTL)

When building an army to fight a crime like human trafficking, the bus industry has a key role to fill. Through their sheer numbers, extensive travels, and the nature of their jobs, members of the bus industry—commercial and school—are uniquely positioned to provide an extra set of eyes and ears for law enforcement in recovering victims and arresting traffickers.

• "Transit on the Lookout to Combat Human Trafficking"  Our goal with this is to support transit managers who are looking to establish anti-human trafficking initiatives. The toolkit summarizes the issue and where there may be intersections between transit and human trafficking, shares case studies, outlines best practices, and provides step-by-step guidance/options for transit agencies on implementing the BOTL training.

The Community Transit Association of America (CTAA)

CTAA consists of organizations and individuals who support creating mobility for all Americans regardless of where they live or work. Our Association believes there are many paths to creating that mobility. This is one of the reasons our membership includes community transit providers, public transit agencies, organizations providing health care, employment services, governments of all kinds, college and university planners, private bus companies, taxi operators, people concerned with the special mobility needs of those with disabilities, manufacturers and many other organizations who share a commitment to mobility.

 

The Federal Transit Administration Region 6 (FTA Region 6)

Region 6 serves the Southwest area of the country and includes the states of Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.  Organizationally, Region 6 consists of a Regional office in Ft. Worth, Texas.  The total staff complement is 20. We are customer driven, so please feel free to contact us at any time. We look forward to helping you plan, apply, execute, and complete transit projects that enhance the quality of life in your communities.

 

National Transit Institute (NTI)

The National Transit Institute, at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, was established under the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 to develop, promote, and deliver training and education programs for the public transit industry.

 

National Rural Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP)

RTAP is a program of the Federal Transit Administration dedicated to creating rural transit solutions through technical assistance, partner collaboration and FREE training and other transit industry products.

 

New Mexico Department of Transportation Transit and Rail Division (NMDOT)

NMDOT Transit and Rail Division provides information to transit providers and the public on public transit service, rules and regulations, applying for federal transit grant programs, transit and rail plans and programs, and permitting procedures for accessing and crossing rail right-of-way.New Mexico Department of Transportation Transit and Rail Division (NMDOT)

 

South West Transit Association (SWTA)

SWTA’s mission is to provide a community of education, communication, and advocacy to strengthen our members and their ability to better provide public transportation services and products in the communities they serve.
